Time for another "watzat"
There is a reason for the name of this blogsite. Sometimes the discussion is philosophical (see below) and sometimes it is just a game. Today's posting is a guessing game. What do you think the object is which is represented in the photo at right? I have two such objects in my office and Cat and I have used both of them, particularly in our young married days. Start guessing!

Hmm... I have absolutely no idea. Not even a smartass idea.
Stumped.
Have to think about it.
Can't say I have any decent guesses. So, I guess I'll give my less than decent answers (though not indecent). I'm thinking that it is some sort of sport equipment like a cricket bat. Told you it was bad.
hhhmmm......I think it has something to do with laundry. Let me think.....
Whatever it is, I love the texture in the photo. Is is a really unconfortable lawn chair?
Is it one of those old laundry ringer/roller things that you use a hand crank to roll things through? (Not that you and Cat are so old that you didn't have modern conveniences when you first got married.)
OK ... shutting up now ... before I say something that could be construed as offensive.
That's a board with a rusty old nail head sticking up out of it...probably a rustic piece of fruntire from your grandparent's house...
Well, I know for sure it is wooden, and that is a ten penny nail head...ungalvanized...
How am I doing??
Hee-hee-hee, yeah, the nail is certainly ungalvanized. I doubt that it is ten-penny since this object did not originate in England or America. It's about the size of a four-penny nail, if that helps.
Whut?
It ain't from around hee-yer? Whut ever happin to buyin Amurican?
(spits a chaw of tobacco on the ground and splashes some on leg of overalls)
That's about what I was a thinkin', Rach.
And I think we been patient long enough. I think we need to know what that thang is. I'm a wunderin' if I used one of them thangs in my young married days.
(moves to the other side of Rach to avoid being spat upon)
LOL! Oh, Annie and Rachel, you two are a hoot playing Clem and Cletus! How about another clue? Read this poem aloud and you may find the answer.
Though glaciers steep would block our way
And icy rain our steps delay,
This warmth we carried day to day:
Sweet thoughts of home so far away.
I don't know. I have read the verse out loud (but quietly, don't want my family thinking I have lost my marbles). I have read it in my normal voice and in a Clem and Cletus voice, while looking at the picture with one eye, but nothing clicks...
so...when ya gonna divulge the answer, because I ain't discerning it.
Though cobwebs thick would block our thoughts
in stupid stares our face contort,
This poem we studied day by day:
still no answer wafts our way.
Darn it, there is something wrong with my poem above, it is missing one syllable in the last line...
that bugs me almost as much as not knowing what this thing is...
I can fix the poem:
Though cobwebs thick would block our thoughts
in stupid stares our face contort,
This poem we studied day by day:
and still no answer wafts our way.
There, now the rhythm is right. I'll hush now.
Based on the new info, I think I'll switch my answer to an ice boot or ice cleats. MUKLUK!
Ha-ha-ha! This is killin' me! Annie, your poem also incorporates the clue! OK, tomorrow I will reveal all.
That was me, by the way. Oy gewalt, sharing a computer with a 12 year old...
I made a comment and it does not seem to have shown up...
It is some kind of block, isn't it?...
what time tomorrow will you be revealing all?
Hmphhh....10:19 on Saturday morning, and we still don't know what that thang is...
